Feature update - Content Uploader
Posted by Lee Conlin on 03 June 2011 09:48 AM

In the new Admin V3 we have updated the content uploader to now use an Ajax-Upload control that will show the progress of the file upload.

Once the upload is complete the page will change to show a progress bar for each Excel file being processed.

I say each because as announced in the recent newsletter you can now upload a Zip file containing one or more Excel files for processing.

In addition to Excel files the Zip can contain RTF files for product descriptions.  RTF files must be named <ProductCode>.rtf for this to work.  When using this feature the "Details" column should be omitted from the spreadsheet.

You can also include image files in the Zip. Image files should be named <ProductCode>.jpg , <ProductCode>_1.jpg , etc. When using this feature the "TeaserImageUrl" column can be ommitted from the spreadsheet.

As always, any problems with version 3 should be reported using the "Contact Support" link at the top of the admin area.

Google Base / Google Shopping Results
Posted by Lee Conlin on 23 May 2011 11:02 AM
From 9am tomorrow all merchants using V3 admin area will see a new tab on the product editor mark SEO. These will clearly show additional product "meta" data and fields.

From midnight tomorrow (24th May) product data will be transmitted to Google Base with these extra attributes.

As a further enhancement any updates made to product information will immedietly get pushed to Google in realtime. There will be a delay of 24-48 hours for this to become active on a store due to a required manual process on Google end.

Extra product fields will be available for update via API and spreadsheet methods from tomorrow onwards.

Merchants need do nothing other than fill in the additional data from tomorrow onwards. Do not attempt to enter this data before tomorrow as the values will not be saved.
