3.Add a Product

This is where you are able add new products. If you want to be able to mass upload content then more information on this can be found here

drop down products

 Basic            

Product Code

Your ( or the product manufactures) code for this product. This field must be filled in with a unique code and you can choose to make this visible to your customers. If you leave this field blank the system will attempt to allocate a six digit alphanumeric code for you. You can also use the manufactures code followed with a semicolon (;) then the manufacturer name for example KV-28LS36;Sony

 

Short Description

 The doesn't have to be unique, but this is what the product will be called. For example; Sony Camera  

 

Price Use a decimal point to separate unit (for example 5.67 is 5 pounds 67 pence). Enter a price of -1 to signify that the product is not for sale. Enter the price of 0 and then the product will not display a price ( if the product is free you should explain that in the teaser area).

 

 RRP if on sale

 You are able to place the RRP or non sale price into this box, If you would like us to style it for you to enable it to show was and now price and look like this; 19.99  14.99. Simply raise a ticket and ask for the was/now price to be styled. Also please state colours (if any) and how you would like it to be styled.

 

Price excludes VAT(the system will automatically calculate VAT on update)

Ticked; This will mean the price you enter into the "price" field will exclude VAT, and this will be automatically added at the checkout.

Unticked; This will mean the VAT is included in the price

 

Allow quantity when adding to cart

 This allows you to choose whether or not you want your customer to have to option of choosing the quantity to add to their cart.

 

Date Filed

 This is the date that the item was last filed onto the system. You are able to change this.

 

The URL for this content is;

 When you first create a product it will show "update first to show and edit URL". Once you have either saved or clicked "update first to show and edit URL"  it will generate the URL depending on the Product name, you are able to customize this by simply clicking the Customize URL tick box.

 

 

Images  
upload an image

when uploading in image simply click the "browse.." button and then select the image you want. Once you have highlighted the image select open. The image will now appear. When you hover your mouse over the image you will see two little icons.

deletePressing this button will delete the picture

The primary image will show a yellow box around that you can see in the image below.

SEO (search engine optimisation)   This is all the information that will be searched for by a search engine.   
Page Title  This is the title of the product page for example; Sony DSLR-A200
META keywords  This is not currently used by Google, but may Google may decide to use this at a later stage.
META description  This is a short description that Google uses to display on the Googles search results.
Manufacturer  This is the name of the manufacture for example; Sony
MPN  manufactures part number is a unique code determine by the manufacturer
GTIN  global tade item number (GTIN) of the product for example; ISBN, UPC, EAN
Brand  The brand of the product, this should be clearly recognized by customers. 
Condition

 New; A brand-new, unused, unworn and undamaged item.

 Used; An item that has been previously used.  The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or an item that has been returned to the seller after a period of use.  

 Refurbished; An item that has been restored to working order by a manufacturer-approved vendor. This means the product has been inspected, cleaned and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications and is in excellent condition. This item may or may not be in its original packaging.

Colour  the colour of the product
Adult  Is the product aimed towards adults? if they are then tick this box
Product Type  Selecting the down will bring up a huge list displaying a lot of different categories, find the category that the product belongs to by using either the up and down arrows on the right or by using the scroll button on your mouse. 
Size  the size of the product, eg 21 inch or size 7

 

Categories  
Primary Category If the product has a primary category select it on the first drop down box. If you leave it to say "no category - Show at top level" 
Additional Categories

When you have a product you may want it to be displayed in an additional categories, here you will be able to choose these. To view inside main categories click the little plus sign that is next to the category( can be seen in the image). simply tick the box and then press save, the item will now be added to this category.

Shipping    
Shipping Charge/Weight (if applicable)  The value you should put in this box depends on how you have configured your shipping options. 

 

Stock Control  
stock level (set to -1 if always in stock) This is where you are able to display the stock level for each product. When a customer buys the product the quantity will go down. If you wish for the product to be set as in stock/available all the time, Just input " -1 " into the field.
Stock message This is the message that will be displayed next to the stock level on the product description page.

 

Variants/ Options  
Products Variants 

list the product variants in the this box for example if you have a welly that is available in red, green and blue, in sizes 4,5,6,7 and 8. This is where you will be able to add these options. To make the system recognise the different variants separate each list item with ";" and each list with a pipe system "|". for example " red;green;blue|4;5;6;7;8 " entering this will give the two drop down boxes that can be seen in the image.

always on homepage; This allows the product to appear always on the homepage, if you template allows it

let system decide; This lets the system decide where to place the product

never on homepage; allows the product to be shown and search-able but not on the homepage

not shown but search-able; its not shown on the site but it can be searched for

not shown non search-able;

hidden; Hides product from the store

Product Options

 

Your product can have several variations each with its own price, code and stock level.

 

option code; this is the code that each option will have, each one must be unique in the same product

price adjustment; how much does this option add? 

Description; a brief description of the option

Stock lvl; how many of this option are left in stock?

shipping amount; how much does it cost to ship this option?

Remove; removes this option 

 

Related/upsells  
Featured Item  Is this product a featured item? tick this box if it is
Related Products you should list all product codes of related items, customers will be shown these related items when they view this product. Useful for batteries, consumables etc. for example when viewing Sony camera,  then having related items such as Sony camera case, Sony battery etc. to do this you will need to know the Product codes for each item that you wish to be related this the product. when you have found the product code inputting it in the following way will allow the related products to be displayed; for example; " xyz101|xyz102|xyz103 "  separating each product with a pipe symbol " | " to get this symbol you will need to hold "shift + \" this will give you a pipe symbol. If you are unable to find this symbol, copy and paste it from this article onto your window.

 

Full Details  
teaser/ advertisement/ promotion This is where you are able to enter a quick summary of the product, for example for a promotion and this will become visible in the teaser. 
Full description This is the description that will be shown next to the product on the product description page. 


 

Specifications  
Upload a Support Document  useful for documentation for the product for example if you were selling a TV you would upload the manual into this box for the user to download.
Description  This is the description that will explain what the support document is.
Product Specifications

This is where you are able to enter the specifications for the product for example a TV will have different size screen; "size| 21 inches " this will input the specification of the TV to have the screen as 21 inches.

 

Dealtime Category

This is where you are able to enter which category your items would be listed www.dealtime.co.uk for more information regarding dealtime please visit their website, http://www.dealtime.co.uk/

Kelkoo category
